BusinessLos Agaves Restaurant opens in GV
By Mark Bollin, Special to the Green Valley NewsNew Los Agaves owner/chef Helio Cervantes is no stranger to Southern Arizona. For more than 10 years, Cervantes was the head chef of Shelby’s Bistro in Tubac, and for the last 26 years, he has been perfecting his Mexican and American recipes in the area. Now, Helio and the Cervantes family have opened Los Agaves, a dream they have had for a long time. The Los Agaves menu has a broad selection of appetizers, soups, salads, appetizers, and over 40 entrees and specials to choose from. Two of the most popular entrees is the Los Agave Plate, a 6-ounce New York steak with chile relleno and a cheese enchilada, and the Chilaquiles Jocoque - a Mexican lasagna, but there are great selections for seafood, chicken, pork, and even liver lovers, too. The Los Agaves is open for lunch and dinner with daily specials and full bar service. “We have upgraded the kitchen and bar to allow us to better serve our extensive menu and make our customers more comfortable. We stress customer service, and want to make sure that we have something to satisfy everyone’s tastes.” Cervantes said. The Los Agaves is open seven days per week 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is at 1451 S. La Canada (in the Foothills Plaza, Green Valley); 625-2336.
