James Bennett | Green Valley News Kiwanis Club supports scholarship The Kiwanis Club of the Santa Ritas, Green Valley, Sahuarita, has agreed to fund a $500 Quality of Life Award for the Miss Pima County Scholarship Pageant on Oct. 12. Some of the members of the club, with Miss Pima County 2008 Stephanie Brooks, include, front row from left, Barry Peacock, Janet Krueger, Brooks, Sherry Jennings, President Mike Peake and Steve Culler. On the second row are Richard Cox, Sally Culler, Jim Jennings, Ken Garver, Ben Butters, Kathy Garver and John Stieve. On the back row are John Paulter, Mort Einstein and Nick Nickolas. The Quality of Life Award will be judged by club members and will go to the contestant whose platform shows special attention to public service, creativity in the project and significant effect upon the lives of others. The Miss Pima County pageant will be held at the Leo Rich Theater in the Tucson Convention Center. |
