Florence Elizabeth Krieger Hough,

89 of Vinita and Tulsa, Okla., and formerly Green Valley, passed away on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, in Tulsa.

She was born Sept. 24., 1910, in Martinsburg, Mo., to Julis and Elizabeth (Schaffer) Krieger. She attended school and graduated from Pittsburgh State Teachers College. She taught school in Mexico, Mo., until her marriage on June 10, 1934, to Charles Louis Hough in Carthage, Mo.

The couple later retired to Green Valley, then moved to Tulsa five years ago.

Florence enjoyed golf, was a Vinita Country Club Women's Champion, and a life master at bridge. She won many trophies at both throughout her life. Florence was one of the first women real estate brokers in Northeastern Oklahoma. She volunteered and taught swimming. She loved fishing and bird watching.

She is survived by her loving children Linda Russell and husband Richard of Harrisburg, Pa.; Julie Patterson and husband Bob of McAlester, Okla.; Dr. Charles L. Hough and wife Janice of Fountain Valley, Calif.; and Elizabeth Sullivan and husband Bob of The Coves on Grand Lake, Okla. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Leslie Patterson of McAlester, Carlie Russell Byrne of Cary, N.C., Richard L Russell II of Washington, D.C. and Robert and Kate Sullivan of the Coves on Grand Lake; also five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be on Monday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Vinita, Okla. The Rev. Noel J. Doherty will officiate. Interment will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Mo.
