The officers asked for the right to search Smith&#8217;s brown backpack, which she gave. The officers found teeth-cleaning kits and a tube of toothpaste. When police asked why she didn&#8217;t take responsibility, she claimed that the officers were asking her about cosmetics. She was cited for shoplifting and given a court date of Feb. 16.</description>
